Eastern Province governor reviews electricity projects with energy ministry officials

Governor of the Eastern Province Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz received officials from the Ministry of Energy’s Eastern Province branch at the governorate’s headquarters, where they reviewed ongoing efforts and development projects for the region’s electricity sector.

The governor praised the Ministry of Energy’s initiatives to advance the energy sector, highlighting the leadership’s strong support and the sector’s continuous progress. He noted that strategic projects have enhanced the efficiency and reliability of electricity services across Saudi Arabia, especially in the Eastern Province.

Saud bin Naif emphasized that upcoming projects will boost readiness to meet the region’s urban, industrial, and economic expansion, contributing to improved service quality for beneficiaries.

Strategic achievements and investments

Saeed bin Abdulrazzaq Al-Khuzayem, general supervisor of the Eastern Sector branch and its affiliated centers at the Ministry of Energy, noted that Jubail Commercial Port’s recent handling of its largest-ever shipment—wind turbines—demonstrates the effective cooperation among government entities and their ability to implement development projects supporting Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

Al-Khuzayem explained that the Ministry of Energy is developing an ambitious strategy to meet the Eastern Province’s rapid growth, with total investments of 58 billion riyals (SAR) allocated for current and future projects. The aim is to strengthen the reliability of the electricity network and increase its efficiency by 20 percent, serving more than two million subscribers by 2030.
