Arab Parliament condemns attack on Qatari gas tanker in Gulf

The Arab Parliament has strongly condemned the targeting of the Qatari liquefied natural gas tanker Al Mayeda, operated by Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat), while it was sailing in Gulf waters.

In a statement, the Arab Parliament said such attacks pose a serious threat to regional security, maritime navigation, and the safety of global energy supplies.

The parliament affirmed its full solidarity with Qatar and support for all measures it takes to protect its security, the safety of its vessels, and the security of its international trade.

It also stressed the need for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to ensure maritime security and the safety of global trade, and to confront such attacks in accordance with international law.
