GCC chief condemns Israeli strikes on Syria as violation of international norms

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes that targeted Abu al-Duhur military airport in Syria’s Idlib province.

Albudaiwi stated that Israel’s attacks on Syrian territory constitute an unacceptable violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, contravening international laws and norms that prohibit infringement on the sovereignty of states. He warned that the continuation of such actions would further escalate tensions and undermine regional and international efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.

The Secretary-General called on the international community to take responsibility and adopt a firm stance against these violations, urging action to halt Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and safeguard Syria’s security and stability. He reaffirmed the GCC’s solidarity with Syria, its sovereignty, and territorial unity.
