Uzbekistan president, Saudi health minister discuss boosting cooperation

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Saudi Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel in Tashkent during the minister’s official visit to Uzbekistan.

Al-Jalajel conveyed the greetings of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with their wishes for President Mirziyoyev’s continued health and happiness, and for further progress and prosperity for Uzbekistan and its people.

The meeting reviewed bilateral relations, the strong ties between the two countries, and the rapid development in their partnership. Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in health and investment sectors.

Discussions also covered priority topics including digital transformation, developing healthcare systems, regulating the pharmaceutical industry, training healthcare professionals, and establishing a multi-specialty hospital in Uzbekistan.

The meeting also addressed the memorandum of understanding signed during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to Saudi Arabia in August 2022, and the resulting joint initiatives. Several agreements were signed during the current visit to further strengthen health and investment cooperation between the two countries.
