Aseer launches infrastructure projects to boost investment and mobility

Aseer Municipality is pressing ahead with a package of development projects aimed at strengthening the investment environment and improving infrastructure. The initiatives include upgrading road networks, enhancing the urban landscape, and preparing public facilities to support economic growth and increase the region’s appeal to investors across all its governorates.

The municipality, through its Infrastructure Agency, is carrying out several road development projects in Abha and other cities and governorates. These include replacing some traffic signals in Abha with roundabouts, resurfacing and rehabilitating roads, and implementing modern traffic and engineering solutions to boost road efficiency, improve traffic flow, reduce congestion at intersections, shorten travel times, lower transportation costs, and enhance the efficiency of economic and service-related movement.

The municipality emphasized that these projects are based on specialized traffic and technical studies that adhere to the highest safety standards. The initiatives are designed to organize vehicle movement, reduce conflict points, and positively impact road users, while accommodating urban growth and increasing traffic density in the region. They also aim to strengthen the overall transport and municipal services system.

To further support economic development, the municipality continues to offer unique investment opportunities to the private sector. These include a tender for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of commercial outlets, as well as opportunities to operate and maintain Al-Salam and Al-Amal parks in Abha. These efforts are intended to empower investors, stimulate economic activity, improve the operation of public facilities, and foster partnerships with the private sector.

The municipality is also advancing urban beautification projects, notably the installation of natural stone facades at several key locations and intersections in Abha. These works aim to reinforce the region’s architectural identity, inspired by Aseer’s environment, and add aesthetic value to the city. In addition, tree planting continues as part of the Prince Sultan Street development and humanization project, expanding green spaces, improving urban environmental quality, and enhancing quality of life.

The municipality stated that the integration of road projects, investment initiatives, and urban beautification and humanization projects forms a cornerstone for supporting sustainable economic development. These efforts aim to boost the competitiveness of Aseer’s cities and create an attractive urban environment for residents, visitors, and investors, contributing to the region’s comprehensive development goals.
