Jeddah officials review preparations for Gulf Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027

Jeddah Municipality held a coordination meeting today, attended by Mayor Ihsan bin Abbas Bafakih and representatives from the Ministry of Sports, to review the latest preparations for hosting the 2026 Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 27) and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The meeting focused on organizational and operational readiness, as well as facilities and services related to both tournaments.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of hosting plans and operational strategies, including completed readiness files. They discussed infrastructure requirements, facilities, and services, along with joint efforts between the municipality and relevant authorities to fulfill all requirements according to approved standards. The meeting also addressed the readiness of stadiums, training sites for teams, hotels, and supporting services, as well as proposals for fan zones at several locations in Jeddah and the related operational and service arrangements to provide a comprehensive experience for teams, fans, and visitors.

This meeting is part of ongoing coordination efforts to complete the requirements for hosting these major football events and to monitor the readiness of facilities and services in the governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and other relevant bodies, as part of the organizational and operational arrangements ahead of the competitions.

Jeddah is set to host the 2026 Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 27) from September 23 to October 6, 2026. The city will also host several matches of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which will take place in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Alkhobar from January 7 to February 5, 2027.
