Heatwave, strong winds and dust storms forecast for Eastern Province

The National Center for Meteorology issued a warning on Tuesday of a heatwave affecting the Eastern Province, with temperatures expected to range between 47 and 48 degrees Celsius.

The center explained that the weather conditions will be accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 50 to 59 kilometers per hour, causing dust and sandstorms and reducing horizontal visibility to between 1 and 3 kilometers, especially on highways and in open areas.

The alert covers the cities of Dammam and Dhahran, as well as the governorates of Hafar Al-Batin, Khafji, Nairyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Khobar, Buqayq, Al-Udeid, Dha'bloutan, Al-Ahsa, and surrounding villages and centers.

The center also noted the possibility of high waves along the coastal areas of the Eastern Province during the warning period.

This weather condition is expected to persist until 8 p.m., according to the National Center for Meteorology's forecast.
