The latest economic bulletin from the Madinah Chamber of Commerce, issue 69, has highlighted the investment opportunities created by the Haramain High-Speed Railway in the Madinah region, as passenger traffic and operational rates continue to rise.

The report stated that the Haramain High-Speed Railway transported around 8.53 million passengers in 2025, operating 70 trains with an average of 96 daily trips, up from 73 daily trips in 2024—a 31.5% increase. The bulletin noted that Madinah station handled approximately 6.04 million arriving and departing passengers in 2025, compared to about 4.09 million in 2023, marking a 48% increase and accounting for 35.4% of total station traffic. The station saw an average daily movement of about 16,600 passengers.

The report pointed out that this growth presents investment opportunities in shuttle transport services between the station, the central area, and hotels, as well as door-to-door transport services connecting the station, hotels, and the airport. Opportunities also include developing integrated Umrah and visit packages that combine train tickets, accommodation, and sightseeing tours, along with organizing trips to historical sites and tourist attractions departing from the station.

Additional investment prospects include expanding retail, food, and beverage activities within the station, developing mixed-use projects around the station, and enhancing parking and vehicle rental services. According to the report, peak monthly demand for these services reached around 739,000 passengers.

The bulletin concluded that the continued growth of the Haramain High-Speed Railway strengthens investment opportunities in transport, tourism, and hospitality services, supports the integration of services for travelers and visitors, and contributes to stimulating the local economy and enhancing Madinah's appeal for investment and sustainable development.
