Saudi Arabia condemns Iranian attack on Seder tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the Islamic Republic of Iran for targeting the Saudi oil tanker Seder as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in fatalities among the vessel’s crew.

In a statement, the ministry also denounced Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, affirming the Kingdom’s full support and solidarity with these countries in any measures they take to protect their security and sovereignty against threats.

The statement stressed the need to halt escalation, respect the security and safety of international navigation, safeguard global energy supplies, uphold the principles of good neighborliness, respect state sovereignty, the UN Charter, and international law and norms.

The ministry called on all parties to de-escalate, respect international law, and return to negotiations and peaceful solutions.
