Insurance expert: Service providers a major source of sector issues
Insurance consultant Louay Abdu says service providers are a key factor in insurance challenges, calling for better cooperation and management in the sector.
Key Takeaways
AIInsurance consultant Louay Abdu has said that service providers are a major source of problems in the insurance sector.
Speaking in an interview with Al Arabiya FM, Abdu added that setting a fixed limit for insured individuals on each visit to an insurance institution is a flawed practice, as patients should be able to receive all necessary care in a single visit.
He explained that health insurance in Saudi Arabia is based on cooperation, accurate pricing, efficient management, and investment returns. With more than 25 insurance companies in the market, clients have the option to leave any company that follows an incorrect strategy.
Abdu also noted that much of the delay in the sector comes from hospitals, due to procedural issues such as incorrect coding and incomplete documentation. He emphasized that the system involves multiple parties and requires cooperation from all sides to improve outcomes.
