Authorities in the Eastern Province carried out the death sentence on Saturday, 2 Rabi Al-Awwal 1448 AH (August 15, 2026), against Shibib bin Abdulrahman bin Mutlaq Al-Muqati Al-Otaibi, a Saudi national, after he was convicted of killing Naif bin Hizam bin Zaid Al-Muqati, also a Saudi national, by shooting him following a dispute between them.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that security forces apprehended the perpetrator, and after completing the investigation, he was referred to the competent court, which found him guilty and sentenced him to death in retribution.
