Qatar voices full support for Saudi Arabia’s security measures

Qatar has reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures taken to safeguard the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that de-escalation in the region and diplomatic solutions to the crisis will be key topics for the Qatari delegation at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The ministry said Qatar continues to work closely with its regional and international partners, promoting diplomacy and dialogue, and supporting efforts to ease tensions and achieve peaceful solutions to the crisis. It stressed that a final resolution can only be reached through negotiations.

Qatar also emphasized that freedom of navigation and trade is vital for both the country and the world. The ministry stated that closing international waterways is unacceptable, underlining the need for unified international efforts to protect freedom of navigation, especially in light of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and rising tensions in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
