flynas confirms order for 25 new Airbus jets, including A330neo wide-bodies

flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, has confirmed the purchase of five wide-body Airbus A330neo aircraft and 20 A321neo jets under its existing agreements with Airbus. This brings the airline's total confirmed orders with Airbus to 235 out of 280 aircraft in its overall order book, as part of its strategy to support growth and expansion in the coming years.

With this latest confirmation, flynas has now secured a total of 20 A330neo aircraft, while its confirmed orders for the A320 family have reached 215 jets.

The agreement was signed on behalf of flynas by CEO and Managing Director Bander Almohanna, in the presence of Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and Chairman of flynas Ayed Aljeaid. Signing for Airbus was Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales.

Bander Almohanna, CEO of flynas, said: "This step ensures sustainable growth of the flynas fleet in the coming years, supporting the expansion of our six operational hubs across Saudi Arabia and strengthening our operational and expansion capabilities, including flynas Syria." He added that increasing the number of confirmed orders will enhance flynas' ability to access new markets, support its role as a key logistics partner in positioning Saudi Arabia as a global tourism and travel hub, help achieve the Guests of God Program goals to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques, and contribute to increasing the sector's capacity.

Almohanna noted that raising the number of confirmed aircraft orders to 235 out of a total of 280 with Airbus will boost operational and expansion capabilities to support the growth and transformation of the Saudi economy and market, especially with major tourism projects and global events that Saudi Arabia will host, such as Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

flynas currently operates a fleet of 67 Airbus aircraft, including two A330-300s, four A320ceo, and 61 A320neo jets. The airline continues to expand its network to meet growing demand for travel within and outside the Kingdom, supporting the goals of the National Aviation Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030 to strengthen air connectivity and establish the Kingdom as a global center for transport and logistics.
