Inspection and awareness campaign launched to boost compliance at Tabuk livestock markets

The Tabuk branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture launched a campaign today to enhance compliance at livestock and feed markets, in cooperation with several supporting government agencies. The initiative is part of ongoing regulatory efforts to curb violations and raise adherence to approved regulations and instructions.

The campaign includes intensive field inspections of livestock and feed markets, as well as associated yards, to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, identify violations, and take legal action against offenders in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

A key focus of the campaign is identifying and removing unlicensed slaughterhouses operating within unauthorized yards, as these practices pose risks to public health, food safety, and animal welfare, in addition to affecting the organization and compliance levels within the livestock sector.

Amjad bin Abdullah Thalab, Director General of the Ministry's Tabuk branch, stated that these campaigns are part of field monitoring plans aimed at enhancing compliance, reducing violations, organizing activities related to livestock, and raising awareness among market and yard owners and operators about the importance of adhering to approved requirements and regulations.

This campaign is part of the branch's ongoing efforts to strengthen field monitoring and improve compliance in markets related to livestock, in line with ministry regulations and objectives.
