Five arrested in Asir for smuggling 230 kg of khat

Border Guard land patrols in the Raboua sector of Asir region have arrested five individuals of Ethiopian and Eritrean nationality for violating border security regulations and attempting to smuggle 230 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

According to a statement posted by the Border Guard patrols on X, initial legal procedures have been completed against the suspects, and both the detainees and the seized contraband have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

Security authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 994 in other regions of the Kingdom. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995, or via email at [email protected]. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality and without liability for the informant.
