Political analyst Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Maliki said the establishment of a multinational defensive naval alliance reflects Saudi Arabia’s longstanding role in maintaining international security and peace, as well as protecting navigation in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea.

Speaking to Al Ekhbariya TV, he added that the Kingdom has made history in safeguarding security and protecting supply chains, which are vital arteries for the global economy.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Defense announced that 14 countries, including Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, and Jordan, had issued a joint statement supporting the creation of a multinational defensive naval coalition aimed at enhancing maritime security and protecting international shipping lanes.
