The National Center for Meteorology on Tuesday issued a warning for the Eastern Province, forecasting a heatwave with temperatures expected to range between 47 and 48 degrees Celsius, accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 49 kilometers per hour.

The center said the alert covers Dammam and Dhahran, as well as the governorates of Hafar Al-Batin, Khafji, Nairyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Khobar, Buqayq, Al-Udayd, Al-Ahsa, and surrounding villages and centers.

Impact on roads and visibility

The center noted that the strong winds associated with the heatwave will stir up dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility to between 3 and 5 kilometers, especially on highways and in open areas.

The weather conditions are expected to persist until 8 p.m. today, and the center urged the public to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines.
