Traffic authority urges drivers to follow road rules as schools reopen

The General Directorate of Traffic has emphasized the importance of motorists adhering to traffic regulations and safety guidelines to protect students as they return to school on Sunday, corresponding to 10/3/1448H.

In a statement on its official X account, the directorate announced its readiness to implement a traffic management plan and organize vehicle movement as university and general education students resume classes across the Kingdom.

The directorate noted that these measures aim to enhance road safety and ease traffic flow on main roads, intersections, and near educational facilities and shopping centers in cities and provinces.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Education announced it has completed preparations for the new academic year, which begins Sunday, and is monitoring the readiness of schools and the education system to welcome students after the summer break.

The ministry stated that more than 36 million copies of school textbooks were delivered to schools before the summer holiday, marking the fastest distribution of its kind.

Curricula have seen significant development, with 22 subjects improved and 50 units on artificial intelligence introduced, alongside the launch of specialized schools for gifted students.

To expand educational options, the Ministry of Education has provided 200 new buildings for the private education sector, creating around 160,000 additional seats as part of efforts to boost capacity.

The ministry continues to enhance advanced digital services for students, parents, and teachers, including the Education Portal, which serves as a unified platform for all education services.
