Saudi Roads Authority issues 5,500 permits in July to regulate network operations

The General Authority for Roads announced it issued more than 5,000 permits to regulate activities on the road network during July, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure road safety and enhance operational efficiency.

The authority stated that the total number of permits reached 5,500, including 5,250 for exceptional loads, 192 for excavation works, 28 for extending excavation permits, and 83 clearance requests.

It added that these figures highlight the effectiveness of the permit issuance service for roads outside urban areas, which was launched through its website to streamline permit applications and improve the experience for companies.

The authority also reaffirmed its commitment to raising safety and readiness levels across the road network, aiming to reduce fatalities to fewer than five per 100,000 people as part of the Road Sector Program, and to equip the network with safety features in line with the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) standards.

The General Authority for Roads continues to provide services to improve offerings for companies and maintain a high standard across the Kingdom’s road network.
