Bahrain has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militia targeting civilian, economic, and vital facilities in Saudi Arabia. The statement referred to the launching of missiles and drones toward Riyadh, Dhahran, Khamis Mushait, and other areas, describing these acts as a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter, and a threat to the lives of civilians and to regional security and stability.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect its citizens and residents. The ministry affirmed Saudi Arabia’s legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security and stability are integral to the security of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

Bahrain also renewed its call for the UN Security Council to take firm action to stop the repeated Houthi terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, to hold perpetrators and their supporters accountable, and to ensure the implementation of relevant resolutions, especially Resolutions 2216 (2015) and 2722 (2024). The statement emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, ensuring the safety and security of air and maritime navigation, securing energy supplies and global trade, and preserving regional and international peace and security.
