Strategic analyst Abdullah Al-Ghamdi praised the meeting of the political and defense committee in the Kingdom to discuss ways to enhance the alliance's mechanisms.

In a phone interview with Al-Ikhbariya Radio, he said that holding the meeting in Riyadh reflects Saudi Arabia's role in the Mecca Agreement and its efforts to complete the institutional framework. He noted that the meeting comes amid growing threats, from missiles and drones to the security of maritime passages.

He added that the timing and location of the meeting are significant, as Saudi Arabia is a key party to the agreement. The timing is especially important given the sensitive circumstances in the region, including cross-border threats linked to the Iranian regime and its terrorist proxies, most notably the Houthis.

He continued that these conditions require moving from mere consultation during crises to joint preparedness before they occur, including intelligence sharing, raising readiness and deterrence levels, rapid decision-making, and military coordination.
