Five scientific sessions highlight organic agriculture forum in Unaizah 2026

The 2026 Organic Agriculture Forum, held in Unaizah from September 8 to 10, featured five specialized scientific sessions focused on leading practices and technologies supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector. The event is part of initiatives by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The sessions explored the concept of organic farming, requirements for transitioning to organic methods, and implementation mechanisms. They also addressed integrated management of organic tomato crops, including soilless cultivation, growth stages, and pest control.

Other topics included the agricultural circular economy and ways to convert waste into organic fertilizers, as well as the challenges faced by organic beekeepers and potential solutions.

One session highlighted techniques for cultivating blackberries, emphasizing their economic and nutritional value, and encouraged the exchange of expertise and best practices among farmers and those interested in organic production.

These sessions contributed to expanding participants’ knowledge by combining theoretical and practical aspects, supporting sustainable agricultural practices across the Kingdom.
