Saudi Arabia has ranked first among 102 countries participating in World Space Week 2025, according to a report by the World Space Week Association (WSWA) in partnership with the United Nations. This achievement, led by the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Space Agency, highlights the country's expanding community engagement in space sciences and the growing interest in science and technology across the Kingdom.

Saudi participation saw widespread involvement, including nearly 36,000 schools, activities at 31 universities, as well as libraries and public venues. These coordinated national efforts helped raise awareness of space sciences among large segments of students, youth, and the wider community, and strengthened the presence of World Space Week at the national level.

The Saudi awareness campaign received international praise during the 63rd session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, held at the UN headquarters in Vienna.

During the committee's proceedings, Dr. Alma Okpaliev, Executive Director of the World Space Week Association, highlighted the Saudi awareness campaign. She noted that the collaboration between the Saudi Space Agency and the Ministry of Education enabled broad national outreach, presenting this approach as a model for other countries to expand awareness of space sciences and promote STEM education.

The campaign also reflects the agency's excellence in digital communication and awareness, earning it four platinum awards at the international MarCom Awards, in addition to two honors at the Vega Digital Awards—one platinum and one gold—in recognition of its outstanding digital engagement and innovative educational content.
