Seven sites in Makkah enter development phase under urban neighborhoods program

As part of its efforts to enhance the urban environment and improve quality of life, the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has announced that seven sites in Makkah have entered the development phase under the Urban Neighborhoods Program, covering a total area of 4,484,896.17 square meters.

The sites include Al-Zuhur neighborhood (1,293,388.76 sq m), Al-Khalidiyah (920,933.19 sq m), Western Al-Hindawiyah (841,292.13 sq m), Jurhum Al-Janubiyah in Jabal Al-Sharashif (757,827.76 sq m), Southern Al-Hindawiyah (308,304.30 sq m), Eastern Al-Hindawiyah (235,610.52 sq m), and Al-Hajlah (127,539.51 sq m).

The inclusion of these sites in the development phase is part of the commission’s efforts to upgrade Makkah’s neighborhoods, improve urban fabric efficiency, and enhance the quality of services and facilities. This aims to provide a more efficient and suitable urban environment, boost residents’ quality of life, and support sustainable urban development in Makkah.

The commission emphasized that this step is part of its drive to create a more efficient urban environment, improved services, and a better quality of life for residents, in line with the comprehensive development underway in the holy city.

Property owners within the designated sites are urged to register their ownership and submit applications via the "Matam" platform. Details and maps of the sites are available on the Urban Neighborhoods Program page, enabling owners and beneficiaries to review development zones and related procedures.
