Over 311,000 students return to school in Qassim as new academic year begins

Approximately 311,000 students returned to 2,452 schools under the General Directorate of Education in Qassim on Sunday, marking the start of the 1448-1449 academic year. The launch was supported by extensive educational, administrative, and technical preparations to ensure a smooth beginning to the school year.

From the early morning hours, students across the region resumed classes, joined by more than 36,300 teachers, administrators, and staff, reflecting the scale of early planning and the coordinated efforts between the administration and schools.

Comprehensive preparations for the new year

Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Furaih, Director General of Education in Qassim, said the start of the new academic year marks the beginning of a new phase of work and ambition. He noted that students' attendance from day one is the result of integrated efforts by teams to create a stable and motivating educational environment.

The General Directorate of Education in the region had completed preparations for the new school year by ensuring the readiness of school buildings and facilities, carrying out maintenance and upgrades, finalizing educational and administrative appointments, and distributing more than 1.8 million textbooks and curricula to schools.
