Registration opens for 2026 World Robot Olympiad in Saudi Arabia

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) has opened registration for boys and girls aged 8 to 22 to participate in the 2026 World Robot Olympiad. Registration is available through the foundation’s website and is open to participants from all regions of Saudi Arabia.

The Olympiad is an annual global competition designed to develop skills in robotics, innovation, and teamwork. The process begins with registration and qualification rounds, followed by national qualifiers and a national final, where the team representing Saudi Arabia at the global finals in Puerto Rico will be selected.

Olympiad stages and objectives

Mawhiba is organizing the first two stages of the Olympiad in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Asr Robotics Company. These stages include registration and qualification, followed by national qualifiers. Winners will advance to the national final, where representatives for the global finals—bringing together around 100 countries—will be chosen.

The Olympiad aims to provide a stimulating competitive environment in robotics and innovation, develop skills in design, programming, and teamwork, as well as discover and empower technical talents. It also prepares students to participate according to international competition standards.

2026 theme and call for participation

This year’s edition is themed “Robots and Culture,” focusing on challenges related to using robotics and artificial intelligence to protect, restore, and digitize cultural heritage, and to enrich public engagement with art and history.

The Olympiad is one of Mawhiba’s programs supporting human capacity development and empowering talented students in technology and artificial intelligence, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
