Engineering arbitrator and expert Saud Al-Dalbahi has said that investments in berths, equipment, and digital solutions have boosted handling efficiency at Jeddah Islamic Port and strengthened its connectivity to global shipping lines, coinciding with the port’s highest-ever monthly container throughput in July 2026.

Speaking to Al Ekhbariya TV, Al-Dalbahi explained that the total number of containers handled at the port in July reached 540,107 TEUs, marking the highest volume in the port’s history.

According to data from the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), the handling operations included 155,270 export containers, 206,927 import containers, 138,615 transshipment containers, and 39,295 transit containers.

Al-Dalbahi also noted that the port’s activity is not limited to container movement, as its gates saw the passage of around 20,000 trucks daily, both entering and exiting.

This surge in activity aligns with Al-Dalbahi’s remarks on the role of investments in berths, equipment, and digital solutions in enhancing handling efficiency and reinforcing links with global shipping lines.
