PIL’s IRF shipping service added to Jeddah Islamic Port

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the IRF shipping service, operated by global company PIL, to Jeddah Islamic Port. This move aims to enhance the port’s capabilities and support trade between Saudi Arabia and regional and international markets.

The new shipping service will strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port’s connections with Egypt’s Sokhna and Safaga ports, with a capacity of up to 1,261 TEUs. This initiative is part of Mawani’s efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indicators and to boost national exports, in line with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a key link between three continents.

The addition of this new service highlights the attractiveness of Saudi ports to international shipping lines. It further reinforces Jeddah Islamic Port’s role as a central platform for maritime connectivity and shipping services on the Red Sea, helping to expand trade routes and support the growth of maritime activity in the region.
