Saudi-French ties built on consensus and shared commitment to peace: analyst

Political analyst Mohammed Al-Juhani said that relations between Saudi Arabia and France are based on consensus and mutual understanding.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ikhbariya Radio, Al-Juhani added that these ties reflect a shared commitment to promoting peace and advancing development that benefits both nations and supports global stability.

He noted that the relationship focuses on dedicated cooperation, spreading peace, and prioritizing development for the benefit of both the French and Saudi peoples. He added that the visit by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to France, at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron, comes after significant progress in bilateral relations between Riyadh and Paris.

Al-Juhani explained that this progress followed the signing of major partnership agreements that created a roadmap covering political, economic, cultural, and artistic fields. This rapprochement has led to sustainable interests and projects, with strong ties allowing both countries to address all issues of mutual concern. He said the visit carries a political significance that goes beyond bilateral relations, following repeated contacts between the two countries on regional security, de-escalation, safeguarding achievements, and ensuring freedom of navigation.
