Saudi foreign minister attends fifth meeting of four regional parties in Amman

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan took part in the fifth meeting of the four regional parties held today in Amman, Jordan. He was joined by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, and Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed recent regional developments, emphasizing the importance of continuing joint efforts, intensifying coordination, and unifying positions on current regional issues.

The ministers stressed the need for collective action to ensure the safety of maritime passages in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, safeguarding freedom of navigation, and supporting the stability of supply chains and energy markets. They commended Saudi Arabia’s initiative to establish a multinational maritime defense alliance to enhance maritime security, protect international sea lanes, and counter threats to global shipping and trade.

The ministers also reviewed efforts to de-escalate tensions and address current security challenges, underscoring the necessity of supporting diplomatic solutions and mediation efforts led by Pakistan and Qatar. They affirmed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states to maintain regional security and stability.
