Saudi man executed for murdering wife in Makkah region

The Ministry of Interior announced today the execution of a Saudi national convicted of murder in the Makkah region.

According to the statement, Musab bin Abdullah bin Safar Al-Abdali Al-Ghamdi, a Saudi citizen, killed his wife, Khulood bint Mohammed bin Hamdan Al-Ghamdi, also a Saudi citizen, by stabbing her with a sharp object, resulting in her death.

Security authorities apprehended the perpetrator, and following an investigation, he was charged with the crime. Upon referral to the competent court, he was found guilty. The court determined that the crime was premeditated and carried out in a manner that left the victim defenseless, and sentenced him to death for treacherous murder. The verdict was upheld by the relevant authorities, and a royal order was issued to carry out the sentence.

The execution of Musab bin Abdullah bin Safar Al-Abdali Al-Ghamdi, a Saudi national, was carried out on Thursday, 6/4/1448 Hijri, corresponding to September 17, 2026, in the Makkah region.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that this announcement reaffirms the Saudi government's commitment to maintaining security, upholding justice, and enforcing Islamic law against those who threaten the safety of others, spill innocent blood, or violate the right to life and security. The ministry also warned that anyone considering such acts will face the prescribed legal consequences.
