Heavy rain and flash floods expected across Saudi regions today

The National Center for Meteorology, in its report on Saturday, forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms leading to flash floods, accompanied by hail and strong winds stirring dust and sand, in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah regions.

The report also indicated a chance of fog forming in parts of these regions, as well as in parts of the Eastern Province.

The National Center for Meteorology further noted that thunderclouds with rain and strong winds may also develop in parts of Najran region.

Sea and wind conditions

According to the report, surface winds over the Red Sea will be northerly to northwesterly at speeds between 15 and 38 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea conditions expected to be light to moderate.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be westerly to northwesterly at 10 to 28 km/h, with wave heights from half a meter to one meter, and the sea will be slight.
