On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Environment, Water andAgriculture, has invited participants in the second meeting of the Organizationof Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Water Council at the ministerial level currentlybeing held in Cairo to attend the meetings of the fifth session of the IslamicConference of Ministers Responsible for Water, which will be hosted by theKingdom during the period from 5 to 7 October, 2020.
The Minister said that the cooperation with the MemberStates of the OIC in the field of water is of great interest to the Governmentof the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he looks forward to further cooperation andcollaboration to achieve water security and sustainable development of thesecountries.
He added that the Kingdom has sought to develop and enablethe water sector to overcome challenges through several initiatives andprograms, most notably the adoption of the national water strategy, which aimsto reach a sustainable water sector that provides safe supply of high qualityand efficiency in accordance with the principles of integrated watermanagement, and achieve the Kingdom's vision (2030) and sustainable developmentobjectives.
