Official Spokesman of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali announced in a press conference on Sunday that 40 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have reported in the Kingdom.

The daily reported number of infected cases brings the total number to 548,930, including 2,268 active cases.

"There are 50 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable," he added.

Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that 64 new recoveries have been recorded, bringing the total recoveries to 537,858 cases.

Also, one new death has been reported, bringing the total deaths to 8,804, said the health ministry spokesman.

The number of COVID-19 vaccine doses that have been administered reached more than 46,000,000 doses, Dr. Al-Abdulaali said.
