Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 1,289 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Health said in their statement that the daily reported number of infected cases brings the total number to 523,397, including 11,358 active cases.

"There are 1,395 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable," the statement said.

"Twelve new deaths have been reported, putting the tally of fatalities at 8,212," the statement added.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,299 cases have recovered, raising recoveries toll to 503,827.
