Saudi Arabia on Friday recorded 1,581 new coronavirus cases and 2,460 new recoveries over the past 24 hours; according to a statement from the health ministry.

This brings the number of total confirmed COVID-19 infections and recoveries in Saudi Arabia to 81,766 and 57,013 respectively.

Saudi Arabia saw a consistent downward trend in number of COVID-19 infections. Besides, a spike in number of recoveries in the last few days.

The ministry also reported 17 more deaths; taking the total number of fatalities to 458 in the Kingdom, which is relatively low comparing to other countries.

Of the new cases, Riyadh continued to report the most number of cases with 483 new infections while Jeddah, Makkah, Dammam and Hufof registered 251, 189, 124 and 107 cases respectively.
