Saudi Arabia is the second largest country in the G20 after Japan, and is ranked third globally in digital economic growth.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Alswaharevealed that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the second largest country in theG20 after Japan, and is ranked third globally in digital economic growth,noting that it will be one of the strongest countries in the digital economy inthe coming period.
Speaking at a session entitled "The Third Summit: What is theFuture of the Global Community", Alswaha said, during the activities of theFuture Investment Initiative (FII 2019) in its third edition held inRiyadh: "Saudi Arabia, moved further up 80 ranks globally as for Internet speed,reaching the 25th rank after the 105th, and third as for5G".
"With cloudapplications and 5G technology, we will transform healthcare through spatialcomputing, where physicians in any other part of the world can see where painareas are located and take remote diagnostics to a new level," Alswaha added, "We'veachieved through developing "Digital Health" program about half a milliondigital medical consultations and we aspire to increase the number in thefuture".
Alswaha pointed out that the initiative of the FII 2018dealt with the aspect of culture and entertainment, and FII 2019addressed technical innovation. The session also touched on the efforts ofcompanies around the world to improve human health and promote new levels ofprosperity and happiness, raising collective awareness globally and redefiningmodern society.
Alswaha discussed the strategies, policies, and partnershipsnecessary to balance productivity and personal achievement, socialparticipation in a safe manner, new frameworks capable of supporting socialcohesion during a period of rapid social transitions, and how societies andeconomies can evolve to become more equal and people-centered.
