Saudi Arabia Continues to Report Drop in Coronavirus Cases

Saudi Arabia on Friday recorded 472 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking the lowest single-day infections in more than five months. The second single-day lowest cases, 483, were on Sept. 20.

According to the Ministry of Health, 26 more patients succumbed to the deadly virus over the past 24 hours.

The rate of recoveries from the novel coronavirus in Saudi Arabia has climbed to 94.97 percent.

In a daily briefing on the outbreak, the Health Ministry reported 472 new infections, taking the tally to 332,329.

Makkah reported the highest daily detected coronavirus cases with 86, followed by Madinah with 46 cases, and Dammam with 32. The remaining cases were in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

Active coronavirus cases have continued to drop with only 12,066 left on Friday, including 1,053 that are critical and still receiving intensive care.

It also announced 843 new recoveries, raising the total to 315,636.

With twenty-six more fatalities, the death toll now stands at 38,698.

The ministry called on the people to respect health measures and social distancing rules in order to continue to curb the spread of the virus and protect public safety.
