The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, held here today, a meeting with Sheikh Rawi Ainuddin, Chairman of the Council of Muftis and Head of the Religious Department of Muslims of the Russian Federation.
During themeeting, Sheikh Rawi Ainuddin conveyed the greetings of Russian PresidentVladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the SecretaryGeneral and the desire of the Russian leadership to develop and strengthenrelations with the Islamic world.
They discussed topics related to broadening the horizons of cooperation between Russia and the (OIC) in the intellectual, cultural, media and other fields.
Its worth mentioning that Russia serves as an observer at OIC.
