Ministry of Commerce clarifies VAT policy on store prices

The Ministry of Commerce has clarified that the price displayed for any product or item in stores must include value-added tax (VAT). This came in response to a question from a follower on the ministry's official account on X.

A follower had asked the ministry: "Does the price shown in the supermarket include tax or not?"

The ministry confirmed that the price displayed to consumers for any product or item must include VAT, and that the price shown on the shelf should match the price listed on the purchase receipt.

The ministry added that any discrepancy between the shelf price and the price on the receipt is a violation, urging consumers to report such cases through the "Commercial Report" app.
