Citizen’s Account program clarifies difference between eligibility and entitlement

The Citizen’s Account program has clarified the difference between eligibility and entitlement, stating that a beneficiary being marked as “eligible” does not necessarily mean they are entitled to receive support, as actual entitlement is calculated at a later stage after verifying eligibility requirements.

In a post on its official X account, the program explained that eligibility conditions include matching the information provided by the beneficiary with data held by official authorities, as well as verifying financial capability, which covers the applicant’s and dependents’ assets and assessable holdings.

Eligibility criteria also require the main beneficiary to be a Saudi national, with exceptions for holders of mobility cards, the non-Saudi spouse of a Saudi woman and her children, and the non-Saudi wife of a Saudi man.

Beneficiaries must also reside within Saudi Arabia and must not be imprisoned or living in a government shelter.

Entitlement conditions in Citizen’s Account

The program further explained that actual entitlement for applicants and their dependents is based on household income, noting that entitlement limits vary according to family size and composition.

Beneficiaries can check their estimated entitlement using the support calculator available through the program’s services.

The program emphasized that eligibility does not guarantee support, as entitlement is assessed in a subsequent stage after confirming eligibility and changing the beneficiary’s status to “eligible.”
