Musaned: recruitment offices cannot request national ID copies for domestic worker contracts

A question was submitted to the official account of Musaned, Saudi Arabia’s domestic labor services platform, asking: "The office requested a copy of my national ID, claiming it is required for recruitment from India, even though the contract has been issued. Are they allowed to request a copy of the national ID?"

Musaned responded via its account on X, stating that, according to Saudi civil status regulations, copying the national ID is a violation of the Kingdom’s rules.

Musaned’s official account has previously emphasized the importance of using official channels when recruiting domestic workers, stressing that making all payments through the platform is the safest way to ensure transparency and avoid fraud.

Musaned further explained on X that protecting users’ financial and legal rights depends on three main steps:

• Payment through Musaned: All fees should be paid electronically via the platform’s official channels to ensure transactions are documented and users are protected.

• Verifying the recruitment office: Confirm that the recruitment office is licensed and officially registered on Musaned before starting the contract process.

• Reviewing and approving contracts: Check the terms and format of the recruitment contract through the platform and approve it electronically to ensure documentation and protect the rights of all parties.
