The Passports Directorate added that this service enables residents to submit a request to update their resident ID photo electronically via the Absher platform app.
It stated that the uploaded photo will be verified using artificial intelligence technologies. Once approved by the relevant authority, the request is processed and the photo is updated. Beneficiaries’ biometric features are verified through Nafath.
If Nafath activation is not possible, users can choose to bypass facial biometric verification when logging in.
