The US Embassy in Riyadh confirmed on Saturday in a statement that the Houthi attacks will perpetuating the conflict; prolonging the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The US embassy statement came after the Houthis attacks on Saudi Arabia on Friday; as the embassy strongly condemns the horrific attack of the projectile; launched by the militias which hit the southern Saudi city of Jazan; and resulted in the killing of a Saudi citizen and a Yemeni resident.
The military projectile also fell on a commercial store on the main street; resulting in two deaths and 7 civilians injured including 6 citizens and a Bangladeshi resident; where the embassy also expressed its sincere condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased; wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
The embassy confirmed in the statement that the Houthi attacks perpetuate the conflict and prolong the suffering of the Yemeni people, noting that it will endanger the lives of the Saudis and more than 70,000 American citizens living in the Kingdom.
The embassy also reiterated its call to the Houthis to stop their reckless attacks on Saudi Arabia, and to engage with the United Nations-led peace efforts to end the conflict, ensure peace and security to the Yemeni people.
