Fog and heavy rain forecast across Saudi Arabia on Wednesday

The National Center of Meteorology has issued its weather forecast for Wednesday, 5-4-1448 (Islamic calendar), predicting continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms that may cause flash floods and hail showers in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah.

The center also noted a chance of rain-bearing thunderclouds forming over parts of Najran, while strong surface winds are expected to stir dust and sand in these areas, as well as in the northern parts of the Eastern Province and parts of Tabuk and Riyadh.

Fog formation is also possible overnight along coastal areas of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.

For the Red Sea, northwesterly to westerly surface winds are expected at speeds of 15-35 km/h in the northern and central parts, and southeasterly to southwesterly winds at 10-30 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h with thunderclouds in the southern part.

Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters in the northern and central sections, and from half a meter to one and a half meters, possibly exceeding two meters with thunderclouds in the southern part.
