How to update birth certificate details via Absher platform

The Civil Affairs Agency at the Ministry of Interior now offers a service to update birth certificate details through the Absher platform.

Updating birth certificate details on Absher

The Civil Affairs Agency clarified that citizens can now electronically update their own or a family member’s birth certificate details via Absher.

This service allows both citizens and residents to easily amend birth certificate information for themselves or their family members through the Absher platform.

The steps to use the service are as follows:

• Log in to Absher Individuals.

• Select Civil Affairs from the 'My Services' menu.

• Choose Birth Certificate Services.

• Select Update Birth Certificate Details.

Registering newborns online via Absher

The Civil Affairs Agency also detailed its electronic newborn registration service, which enables citizens and residents to register newborns online.

The agency explained that the service allows users to request delivery of official documents, such as the family registry and birth certificate for citizens, and the birth certificate for residents, directly to the beneficiary’s national address without visiting Civil Affairs offices.

To use the service, log in to Absher, select "My Services" then "Services," click on the "Civil Affairs" icon, choose "Newborn Registration Service," review the requirements, and complete the application.

The Civil Affairs Agency emphasized that births must be registered within 30 days of the birth date, and a financial penalty will be imposed if this period is exceeded.
