Sultan of Oman hosts Saudi Deputy Defense Minister

Sultan Qaboos, Sultan of Oman, hosted in Muscat on Monday theSaudi Deputy Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman.

They discussed bilateral relations and the firm joint positions of Saudi Arabia and Oman on maintaining security and stability in the region, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Prince Khalid praised the Sultan's efforts and continuous supportfor cooperation between Riyadh and Muscat.

It's noteworthy that the meeting was attended by a number of senior officials from the two countries. Sultan Qaboos threw dinner banquet in honor of Prince Khalid and his accompanying delegation.

The Saudi Minister held separate talks with Oman's Minister of Defenseaffairs, Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al-Busaeedi and Minister for Sultan's BureauAffairs, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Numani. Their discussions focused onbilateral relations, efforts to protect their common borders and counterterrorism and extremism, and ways to support the two country's current militarycooperation.
