Last Quarter Moon of Shabaan Observed in Northern Borders Region

The skies of Arar in Northern Borders Region witnessed the appearance of the Last Quarter Moon of Shabaan 1447 AH today, emerging half-illuminated in a serene astronomical display and signaling its approach to the conjunction phase and the start of a new lunar cycle.

During this pivotal stage, the moon was visible at 50% illumination. The Last Quarter phase precedes the new crescent and is characterized by the moon rising after midnight and setting before noon, providing an ideal opportunity for astronomical observation.

This observation reflects the ongoing interest in monitoring astronomical phenomena, contributing to scientific literacy and strengthening astronomical awareness within the community.

It also plays a vital role in supporting calculations related to the Islamic calendar and the timing of new moons.
