While Saudi Arabia ended the last academic year "remotely", the kingdom begins on Sunday the new school year 1442 Hijri (2020/2021) remotely as well in order to preserve the safety of more than six million students, Al-Riyadh and Al Yaum newspapers reported.

The papers futher said that the Kingdom resumed the new school year via distance learning programs, despite the drastic decline in number of people contracted COVID-19 across its regions and the increase in the recovery rate which exceeded 90%.

They concluded that in light of COVID-19, the Kingdom has proven that it has a digital infrastructure with the highest standards of global qualifications, which successfully helped in running the country's education process via distance learning.
