The authority clarified that these items include: currencies or bearer negotiable instruments, gold bars, precious metals, gemstones, and jewelry valued at SAR 40,000 or more (or the equivalent in foreign currencies), goods in commercial quantities or valued above SAR 3,000, excise goods, as well as prohibited or restricted items.
The Zakat and Customs Authority emphasized that duties and taxes apply only to new, unused luggage that is still in its original factory packaging.
